Bone china character jugs are rather special. They are made of porcelain and therefore have a translucent quality to them. They are slightly smaller than the standard earthenware jugs and their glazes are sharper and brighter. The production run for all the bone china jugs was 1968 - 1971. The jugs were successful but the cost of production was considerably higher. Given a choice, it is always worth paying more for the quality of the bone china jugs.
